Discostan's latest release is an EP of edits from Pakistani-British ingénue Nermin Niazi’s groundbreaking 1984 synth pop album, Disco Se Aagay.
Reissued to rave reviews in January by Discostan, Disco Se Aagay has now been reintroduced to a new generation of fans, tastemakers and DJs.
That includes the prolific producer Moving Still, the Jeddah-born, Dublin-based DJ and producer who has packed dance floors with his ear for Italo sounds from around the world.
On the Disco Se Aagay: Edits and Reprises EP, he works his magic on two standout tracks from Disco Se Aagay: the cosmic disco banger “Sari Sari Raat” and deep cut “Hum Tum.”
The EP also contains previously unreleased material from Niazi’s original recording session in 1984, including two experimental reprises and an English-language version of one of the album tracks.
